Sponsor a Birth

Through our Sponsor a Birth program you can help a new family form amidst love, healing, and joy.  Your donation will sponsor prenatal, birth and postpartum care for a single indigenous woman who has taken refuge at one of two local women´s shelters.  Many women are expelled from their families and communities when they annouce their pregnancy or are forced to flee due to repeated physical and sexual violence.  At Luna Maya we believe that it is fundamental that these women be treated with the utmost respect and they that are able to recover their feminine power and experience birth as a beautiful and loving event.  We have found that through midwifery care the women from both shelters bond with their babies with deep acceptance and that through their humanized homebirths that they are able to reconnect with their capacity to love and live without violence.  

Women who choose to participate in the program give their permission that sponsoring families may receive information and visual material of the new family.  Your committment as a sponsor is a one time donation of $300.  This is a beautiful way for your family to connect with our family, including those women and children who most need support.

Nacer Contigo records the philosophy of Casa de Partos Luna Maya and the experience of those women and men that have chosen to share a respectful, loving, and humanized birth with their babies.

It's a usefull tool to inform about humanized birth in Spanish (as you know, most of available material is in English), and it's intimate, trustfull tone promotes identification with participants.
